About

Recruiting built on relationships

Alpha Search is a small, founder-led recruiting firm. The people you talk to are the principals, the relationships are real, and the specialty was chosen on purpose.

Our story

Twenty years, one founder

David Marvin founded the firm as TexasExec in 2005. He owns it and leads it today.

The firm did not start in banking. It started in physician recruiting, and over two decades the work found its home in commercial banking, drawn by the relationships, the people, and the depth of the searches. We did not dabble our way in. We chose banking, deliberately, and built everything around that choice.

Along the way the firm grew and evolved into Alpha Search, founder-led the entire time. Two decades of the same hands on the work means the relationships do not reset every few years, and neither does the standard.

What that means for you

Why the history matters

Specialists by choice

Most recruiters end up in a niche. We picked ours. When a firm chooses commercial banking on purpose, you get a partner who wanted exactly this work and learned it deeply.

You get the principals

We are a small, close team. The person who picks up the phone knows your name, your market, and your search, and that is who works it. No hand-off to a junior, no account number.

Relationships, not transactions

The placement is a moment; the relationship is the work. We aim to be the firm you call for the next hire, and the one after, and the bankers we place keep our number too.

Where we come from

Rooted in Texas, reaching across the region

The roots

The firm was built in Texas and has worked the Texas market for twenty years. That tenure is the asset: the relationships with community and regional banks are already in place, made over years, not assembled for a search.

The reach

From those roots, the work has grown outward. Today we serve community and regional banks across Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Colorado, and wherever the right search takes us.

The rest is better in conversation

The fastest way to understand the firm is to talk to it.
